A New 2008

With just only a few days left before 2007 become history, the prefects' board would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
The Prefects' Board would like to introduce a new theme for 2008:

Coming together, sharing together, working together,

and succeeding together.

The new theme symbolize a new beginning of 2008 , whereas we all come together, share together, work together , learn together, and succeed together. Here are some of the explanation of the new theme:

Coming together : About 73 prefects come together, as one team. In that team, we learn to know each other names, hobbies , their favorite food and so on. We become their friends, and they become our friends, and when we are helpless, our friends will come..........

Sharing together : 73 prefects mean 73 new experience. It is good if we can gather those experience, inside a book or something, then we learn from others people experience so that we would not make the same mistake. We share our joy, our tears, both of our bad time and good time together. That's what make us special.

Working together : 73 prefects work together, but only for one purpose, that is : to succeed together . We do not work for our own benefits , nor our school, but we work because we are a team, a team of 73. We work not because the school ask us to do so, but because it is a process to success, to train ourself into a better man, for the team.

Succeeding together : After so much of learning, sharing and working, it is time to enjoy what we have done. We will succeed together, and no one will be left behind. 73 prefects, 73 victories.

The prefects' board would like to urge everyone to cooperate so that we can achieve our target.

Guardian Survey : Explaination

The prefects' board conduct a survey on 1st week of November. Almost all prefects joined the survey (9 prefects do not turned out for survey(including prefects from 6RS2))
The purpose of the survey is to identify, define, solve the problems, and thus, prevent it from happening again.

During the survey, many questions and problems were raised. These questions and problems were brought to the Executive Meeting on 3/11/2007(Saturday) to be discussed . During the meeting, we defined, identified, and come out with solutions to solve and ways to prevent the problems from happening.

Here are some major problems:

Problems	Solution
Student always eat in class . do not obey orders from the prefects	1.1.Prefects could write their name and class and pass it to the Exco. 2.2.Normally, the whole class will go for KK if more than 5 students eat in class.
Prefects has not enough time to eat during recess time	1.1.The prefects board would extend the recess time for prefects to 10:05am. 2.2.Only the prefects who work during recess can do so.
Teacher complain prefects of being late for class	1.1.The teachers will be told about the jobs of prefects. 2.2.All prefects are suppose to be in class by the latest 7:25am and 10:10am. Failure to do so will be marked late by teachers.

Canteen do not prepare food in time	1. Will ask school canteen to prepare the food earlier so prefects could buy it.
Students are late for K.K	1. AJK bloc A,B and C will help to ask the class to go for KK . 2.If the students are late for K.K, that class will have to redo the K.K the next day.

And there are a few problems that were raised by a number of prefects:
1. Some prefects are not working (late, bad attitude), yet the prefects' board has done nothing on them
I personally take this issue seriously . Soon after I found out who are they, I meet them personally with the Prefect Internal Affairs(to find out what did I do to them, ask Prefects Internal Affair). I also gave an order so that prefect who are late or do not turn out for duty more than 4 times in a month to meet me and Internal Affairs personally.

2. Too many activities, some activities are not well organized
I have to admit there are some activities this year. Activities are held in order to equip prefects with the organizing skill. Organizing and managing activities take time ,and commitment from the organizers.Through activities, we learned to know each other, enabling us to learn together, to share together, to work together, and We Will Succeed Together. Some activities are not well organize, but that doesn't stop,or discouraged us to keep going. We learned from mistakes, and move on. It is good to make mistakes when you are young so that you don't repeat it again in the future.

3. "I think blue tags have done little......"
I am not surprise when I come across this statement . Most of my assistants are shy person. They prefer to act quietly,instead of telling prefects what they are doing. Becoming my assistant is not an easy task. They have to attend cabinet meeting every week (Thursday, during recess). During the meeting, I will discuss with them about the problems we have, and how to prevent it.In that meeting, I will check their attendance, their jobs and so on. For an example, if a sport check or an activity are not well organized, I will start questioning Prefects Operation Directorate , why they fail to monitor and to act in order to fix and prevent the problems. To make it simple to understand, when problems happen, I do not look for the person who caused the problems, instead, I will look for my assistant. They are also the person who implement the order given from the head prefect and the teachers as well. I have to say, I am proud of my assistants, they are efficient, and a great helper. Of course, I am proud of my prefects as well, as they have shown me their determination, courage and wisdom.

Ice Cream, yummyy!

Prefects' fund raising team, after lots of planning, finally they began their fund raising program, selling ice cream.
The aims for fund raising are:
1. to funds the prefects camp in 27,28 December
2. to equip prefects with the skills of organizing.
3. to instill team work.

Thanks to Mr Sim, we manage to get the supplier.

The fund raising started from 5/11/07 to 9/11/07

The fund raising team had collected RM 258 in profit , thanks to the students and teachers who support us throughout the activity.

Prefect Board Announcement

To: Form 4 and Lower 6 prefects
All prefects will resume their duty on 29/10/2007 morning, 7:05am, following the duty on the 4th week.(Only prefects that take mandarin test are allowed to take leave during morning time, and resume their duty during recess.)
The Prefects Board 2007/2008 would like to thank our seniors for continuing the prefects sacred task when we are busy with our exams.
The prefects are urged to be punctual.

The Guardian Project- The Future Project

Not long ago, the prefects board introduced the Guardian Project, aims at improving relationship between each prefects, to form a strong bond within prefects. The Guardian Projects is a project, which consists of few activities. The whole Guardian Project will lead by Min Huang, with the help from Prefect Adminstration Board and the Exco.
Part of the Guadian Projects are as listed below:
1.Guardian Angel- an activity where Prefects A will be given a name, Prefects B ; Prefects A is responsible to take care of Prefects B, he/she can do so by "chatting , advice ......."prefect B.The name list will change each month. **So far this projects is only involved The Exco. The result, however is not good, this project has been put on hold.
2. Guardian Directory : This project involve collecting the personal information on each prefects, including name, telephone, address and etc. Then we "piles" all information into a book, which is known as "The Contact List of Prefects Board 2007" **The contact list has been distributed among prefects' *Some mistake inside the contact list, Ho Pei Yin is a treasurer and her name suppose to be appeared inside THE EXCO.
3. Proposed Guardian Web : The Prefects board would like to create one more website to store information of prefects. We are going to use friendster to store information, including picture, name......... Friendster is chosen because it can store great amounts of picture, and the ability to write testimonial. (Note that this project is different from the blog, will be initiated in 2008)
4. Guardian Trip : The school promised us to have a trip at the end of the year. However, the trip has been canceled due to lack of response from the prefects.
5. Proposed Guardian Camp : After much consideration, we have change our place and time. The camp will be held in SMK Batu Lintang, on 27/11/2007 and 28/11/2007.

These are the few activities in the Guardian Project. We hope that all prefects will cooperate to succeed it.

Announcement :

The year end test will start soon, with the form 4 students on this coming Friday(5/10/07) while the Lower 6 will start few days later( On Monday , 8/10/07). I hope all prefects have prepared themselves well for the coming exams.
When the exams start, the prefects are given "leave", which means, they are not necessary to work during exam time, so that they can use their time wisely. Form 4 prefects can be "off duty" on the coming Friday, while the Lower 6 will have their duty off on Monday.
During the exam time, our senior (Former prefects, Form 5) will re-wear their prefect uniforms, grey pants for boys and grey skirt for girls. They will continue the prefects sacred task when we are busy with our exams,counting 1+1 = 2 , guessing and filling A, B , C ,D on objective papers.
All the prefects are urged to wear their uniform neatly during the exams. Last but not least, enjoy the test.

One make mistake, we all bear the same resposibility, For we are a team

Not long ago, I received news that one of my prefects has been suspended for a month which suprised me. Soon after that, I had a meeting with all the prefects, explaining to prefects what had happen.
During the meeting, the school advice us not to break the school rules,and told the us that if we make mistake, we will get punishment as the ordinary student do.
Some of the prefects were confused, they act as if they were innocent(in fact, they are, because they are not the one that break the school rules), ignoring the warning given by the school. So, I clarified one thing : We are in a team, which means, if anyone of us make a single mistake, all of us have to bear the same responsibilty. If my prefects do not understand this what so called "team spirit", then I am glad to spend my time with them.
I believed that as a team, team members need to care about each other. I believed that this "incident" can be prevented if his/her friends advised him/her not to do so. This is why the Prefects Board introduced "The Guardian Project", aimed to care the Exco and the prefects as well.
Therefore, the next day, I apologised to PK, PKHEM and PKK, not because I am too free until I have nothing to do, but because I know what I have to do , to set an example among prefects, what a team is.
The Prefects Board is not blaming this "person", but would like to use this incident as an oppoturnity to tell everyone: Yes, we suffered, but we grew stronger;We make mistake, but through mistake we learnt. There is one saying , "curiosity is the mother of invention", then I will say, "making mistake is the way to success", if we know how to apply this concept.
Last but not least , the Prefects Board is not giving up that person, we will welcome him/her back next month. Wish you all the best.

The Contact List of Prefect Board

We would like to thank all prefects for helping Prefect Administration Board to finish the the Contact List of Prefects Board 2007/2008. We hope that all prefects will use it wisely.

The contact list will be distributed next week. (3rd week of Sept).

If you do not get it by the end of September, please look for Prefect Adminstration Board.

A letter to prefects

To: All prefects

Dear prefects, the Prefect Board will conduct a survey about the 3 days 2 nights camp in the future. The survey will be conduct from Thusday and end at Friday.(10am).Please take the survey form from the operation room. Upon completing the survey form, kindly put it into the survey box (or known as ballot box). We would like to thank you for your time.

As you may know, the Resolution 1991© that call all prefects to wear black shoes has been rejected. Thus, the resolution 1991(c) will not be executed.

As to the Executive Council, the Resolution 1991(b) will be fully implemented next Monday (10/9/2007). Action will be taken against the Exco that fail to comply the Resolution 1991(b)

Last but not least, the prefect board would like to congratulate every prefects for being punctual for duty. Keep up the good work. We hope that you enjoy your day.
